Irazú Volcano (One day)
En route to Southern area taking the Pan-American highway we will start the ascent of the colossus volcano "Iztarú". The winding road traverses fertile earth that is cultivated with many kinds of vegetables surrounded by an extensive panorama. At the top of the volcano the principal craters are seen, and on a clear day it is possible to see both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans .
We will continue descending to the city of Cartago, stopping at the Basílica of Los Angeles, which is a traditional pilgrimage center for many Catholics.
Suggested equipment: Hat, light jacket, comfortable walking shoes, binoculars and camera.
